Zara McDermott Joins Strictly Come Dancing
Zara McDermott is the first contender from Love Island to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing, and she will be the show’s sixth participant overall.
Zara McDermott will be trading in her time on Love Island for a spot on Strictly Come Dancing 2023 after it was announced that the reality star would participate in the competition.
When the dance competition comes to BBC in the latter half of this year, she will be competing among other dancers such as Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, and Amanda Abbington.
Following rumors that the influencer and documentary maker will make history by being the first Love Island participant to go on Strictly Come Dancing, it has been confirmed that she will be taking up a spot on the line-up.

Zara, who could not control her enthusiasm at the prospect of being covered in sequins, said, “I am so excited to be joining the world of Strictly!”

Zara McDermott Gives Impact for Young Generations
Zara’s efforts on behalf of younger generations have been recognized on several times. For example, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Refuge charity welcomed her to Clarence House, where she collaborated with the Duchess on a visit to a sexual assault referral center (SARC).
In addition to this, she has collaborated with the government and the Home Office on a number of projects to put a stop to violence against women and girls. Most notably, she led a campaign that was successful in having the legislation altered to protect victims of digital abuse.

Her casting news follows the revelation that Irish host Angela Scanlon has been selected as the sixth contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
Eddie Kadi, a radio DJ and comedian, and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, a star in the journalism world, have both been confirmed as participants.
